I couldn't find a forum about matters of spirit and soul, so psychic seemed the closest thing.
A: The spirit and soul discussion may appear more readily on something of a religious or philosophical background (Spiritualism is a religion, philosophy, science and discusses spirit and soul readily - check out some of their sites).
Q: I was just reading on another forum an opinion that we all have a guide with us from birth and many others that drop by through out our life. Also that we choose our lives before we are born into them.
A: We have a guardian for life - their job is to grow and learn along with their charge, aiding the journey every step of the way.
Guides tend to come when there is something specific to learn - psychic, mediumship, paranormal are in this catagory. Also science and art are some of the areas of expertise guides try to impress with aid and help in the creation.
As to choosing before we are born - this has a very limited following. Even reincarnationists disagree on this one. If it were all chosen, there would be no point to the life that designs and presents our challenges and lessons. It is through our lessons we grow.
Q: I don't agree with these sentiments. I don't think we predetermine our lives, if we did what would be the point? Would we really choose to be sick or to see our loved ones die or be in pain? Really? Just for spiritiual growth?
A: Pain and Suffering are a consequence of our own actions. Consider your choices wisely and work within the laws of life and it runs smoothly. But the lesson can often be found in the times we don't follow the course of our own best interests.
I once heard of someone who suffered no pain to the body (a medical condition). How would they know a bone was broken or something needed attention to heal? A broader thought on pain and suffering would help us understanding consequences of our own actions - cause and effect.
Q: I don't think that we have guides like that either. Guides aren't 7 foot high Native American Chiefs, and braves or monks etc. But it is possible that what some people call 'guides' may be the 'librarians' or 'truthholders' or our connection to the Akashic records, or the Great Library? Inner voices and conscience, our ego or sub-conscious? Rather than seeing us talking to ourselves and being called mad, when people commune with their guides are they really just connecting to their own deep inner core, or to the source?
A: So many ideas! Guides exist - they can be anyone that is in spirit form from the 7 foot high Native American to monks, etc.
The Akashic records is also a limited idea. I once got an inspiration (from my guide) that someone saw a library in their meditation and named it - Akashic - and it stuck with others. I see a library in my meditations and have a wonderful source of knowledge.
Whether guides are other souls - outside ourselves - or a part of our own core, is a matter of belief systems. When we go to spirit realms (afterlife) in the fullness of time we will meet/greet our loved ones and also our guides. It will be a glorious reunion from our work together!
All life is energy. I believe in many energy levels for all existence to continue to change and grow - our life is about progressive stages - as below, so above. The source (God) is the finest of all energies and it comes to us at our gross material level to help us see above some of our suffering and know our purpose in life.
If a tree can talk to your heart, can a forest talk to your soul? |
IME many good questions!
