I have my partners brother staying with us for a while. He's just escaped an abusive household. I think he's deeply depressed. He's single, hasn't many friends and spends his time in a wiccan shop. He's quite shy and very naive.


I want to help but I don't know how. I've told him I do not like his 'friends' in the wiccan shop 'cuz I think they are holding him back and they are trying to alinate him from me [they think I'm bad and took an instant dislike to me]. I'm sure they are putting pre-conceived ideas in his head and getting him involved in something he has little understanding of.

He was born on the 24th august 1985. He's name is Peter.

It is one of those things he will find out for himself - in the fullness of time.  The bashing of you will be a factor.  He likes you and knows you have helped him in so many ways - even supplying a refuge from the abuse.  This will not sit well, but he has to play this out.

Oh ok thanks. I was hoping I could help him. I really dont want him living with me for a long time. He seems to rely on me a bit and his hygiene isn't to my standards. Is his so called friends a threat?

If I may share. You might consider, if the desire to help keeps pulling on you the following, take an interest in what he is into with an open mind, yet without compromising who you are. Lastly, I would like to leave you with something to think on, sometimes patients free the doctors.
