Oftentimes what we encounter in a daily lives is reflection of what we are projecting from within ourselves. You can trigger reactions from people on a metaphysical level by what emoptions you are projecting. This is why it's important to get control over you emotions.
Here is a simple exercise that should help you - Sit down in a quiet place and close your eyes. In your mind's eye, go back to a time in your life when you felt accepted and acknowledged. Put yourself there as if it's happening right now. Visualize the surroundings of this event in your mind's eye. Pay attention the all the details that you can - shapes, colors, people present, clothing, surroundings, textures, etc. Focusing on these details helps you to turn on this emotion.
Once you get good at this, you will be able to turn this emotion on and off at will. Once you get a turning on that emotion, you will be able project this emotion at will in your day to day life. When you meet someone you would like to talk to, project this emotion, turn it on. You will find this gives you better than expecting to be ignored. Let me know how do.

we all feel like this sometimes , i dont think you lack something in your personality , its just that you are trying too hard to attract people and feeling ignored. Just be natural , try to be yourself dont try to project yourself as others are , meditate a little and everything will be fine with time
many blessings

Everyone here is right on the mark,
Meditate!
Every morning as you get out of bed, Thank god for the beautiful day and for all the lovely people he's brought into your life.
Put on a different personality, character, Sometimes it helps pretending you are someone else and you take on their behaviour and attitudes.
Dsellers told you to take yourself back to a happier time in your life, I agree with that,
For the past 2 days, I've been RE-living a time where I had been totally disqusted with my surroundings,
That rubbed off on everyone else, Because I put myself back there, The feelings came back into my real world.
NOW Imagine the reverse of what I went through.
If I would of relived a happier time, A less stressful and less emotional time in my life, I would of carried over a
carefree happy emotion,
Instead of repelling everyone and neglecting my duties.
Hugs to you

After reading through this post, I just have to put my two cents in. I do agree with everything everyone has said, but you remind me so much of my son! He is 15 now but everything you have talked about, he's been through. He is also autistic, aspergers to be exact. He has a mild form, some would call it high functioning. I think alot of his social awkwardness is his autism. He can sometimes meet strangers and start poring his heart out to them, or see someone who is wearing certain stones (a passion of his is gemology, and he knows alot about it, more so than some jewelers!) and start talking to them like he's known them for years because he felt a connection that wasn't there and this puts them off.
I've tried to show his the ins and outs of socializing but if it's coming from mom???....what he really needs is to join a group that specifically teaches asperger kids social skills, but they cost money, which I don't have. He's not autistic enough to get free help because the government has made too many cuts, so we're kind of stuck right now.
Anyway, my question to you is, have you ever sought out a doctor or psychologist that can determine if you have a form of autism? I'm not saying that you do, please don't take this the wrong way, it's just that it would explain alot and maybe it will move you to research more and find some answers.
