I've been a member for sometime now and I feel I need to get some insight into something.

Okay, well I have read the Tarot for years and I am a practitiner (fully qualified) of Tarot and psychic counselling. Over the yrs I have ignored my abilities of sixth sense and clairsentience. This last yr has had me spending more time developing my abilities and giving more tarot readings to people. I am getting more clientele now as I have promoted myself a wee bit and others have recommended me. More recently I have been hable to tell clients about their loved ones (passed over) and even though I am getting a hell of a lot right there are things that aren't correct. At the time of telling people things/facts I get a gut instinct I'm correct or near to, and then later on the person confirms through consulting with family that I was correct.

What I'm having trouble with is how I'm getting these messages. Are there others out there that see images / visions of spirits in there mind's eye and words that are coming up? Is this the spirit/s telling you this, or is this your own intuition guiding you? How much of your intuition could be guesswork? Is this a possibility?

I feel I'm doing something wrong, even though I'm getting good results from people. Why is this?

The eternal question - is it guidance? - or is it me?

Development can open the eyes to so much that is happening through all the senses - using the whole body as your response centre allows that it can come in any way spirit can get through to the individual medium.  

The more you develop with a good resource/teacher the more it will make sense to you - as a psychic we use all our senses to manifest our demonstration - and we add 2 more - intuition from the gut and I know from the heart.

Personally I think that sometimes formal training, (and you mention you have a 'tarot qualification' and counselling), can sometimes subdue our psychic intelligence. We are more concerned with learning and forming our answers so we pass the course than actually liatening and passing on a message accurately.

The messages, pictures and guidance may come from many sources, it is up to you and your beliefs and your knowledge to sort them out inot real and invented or truth and non truth, or possible and impossible. This all takes time and experience to gain confidence. Many 'feelings' or hunches about facts and confirmation come true due to sub-conscious information , many come true due to plain old odds and percentages, and some, seem to be true  knowing or seeing  or perhaps even fortune telling.

I am a gut feeling kinda of person myself, I have to concur with some of what I have read before me. I think that in searching for a specific reason for why you get what you do, perhaps you should question that you are able to do it at all. I mean why would you want to reach out to people unless you thought that you would be of some use to them. I know that many people talk about spirit guides and when I was 12 I know that I had one but now I often question if I have out grown him or if he is just more subtle than he used to be. I try not to focus on it too much... it takes away from the point of all of it in the first place. I am meant to help people, I have felt this way my whole life. I know now that focusing on me and  my reasons for doing things or the how I do them, is no where near as important to me as the why. I often felt like I never fit in, however, everyone in my family swears I was always normal just like them. *smile* I think that it has a lot to do with us as people. If you feel you really need to find out the answers, then perhaps you should not rely on the abilities when you read for people unless it is something that you can't ignore. Much more often when you can't let it go there is a reason for it. anyways I am done rambling at you. I hope that this helps you in someway.

Suggesting a balance of both direction/learning with hands on practice is effective.  The more we know, the more power of understanding we have to work with in all lines of endeavour.  

Why is it so many object to psychic training and learning?  (Unless it is free of course)  The fact is even a concert pianist had a teacher to learn the basics while they hones their own gifts through practice, practice, practice.
