a little background first: i've been lurking for a while and never thought i would join because i didn't think i was psychic or had any "special" abilities. however, i've always believed in the abilities of others. then i thought, "well, at least i can give hugs," and decided to join finally. that was yesterday.

well, last night i was persuing some old posts on this site around midnight (i wish i could remember what thread i was reading), and all of a sudden my ipod turned on. note that my ipod was flat on the table surface and nothing touched it or disturbed it.

this kind of freaked me out, so i hightailed it to bed. well, once i was in bed with my eyes closed trying to clear my head to go to sleep, i realized that i could see faces. they were very unclear and to me unidentifiable, but they appeared as blurry images that had been over-layed (almost like a transparency) onto the images that i had been seeing in my head. when i realized what i was seeing, i forced myself to stop clearing my head and instead tried to think of something specifically "happy" as i went to sleep.

so, tell me: was this all a product of my over-active imagination after spending some time on this forum, or is something else going on? (nb: i'm kind of hoping it is the former, since the latter possibilities kind of scare me). tell me what you think.

Absolutely not!!! IMHO

Although you believed when you first were drawn to the site that you had about as much psychic ability as a lump of rock, it is well known that associating with mediums and psychics and thinking about or discussing psychic matters is often all that is needed to make your own abilities finally awaken.

They have there all of the time, but by focussing on matters and people which and whom are related to the psychic world within each of us, we in turn become increasingly aware of our own psychic/spiritual abilities.

If you believed when you came here that your ONLY function was to be able to offer hugs, please think again. Also, if you believe for one moment that it was sheer coincidence that you discovered this website at this particular time in your own development as a medium (your abilities are still largely latent or unused), then I feel that you are in for some surprises and perhaps some rude shocks as well.

I have just begun as a student myself of a course concerned with mediumship which is generously being offered by one of our valued members spiritalk, and I would definitely recommend that you should also take a look at this as soon as possible. You should have no lack of questions to ask J as you begin to gradually explore your mediumship, if indeed you choose to do so. Your choice about whether or not to use your mediumistic abilities must forever remain a matter of your own free will.

Nobody here has the right to force you to make your choice, one way or the other.

thank you for your reply, as well as your careful consideration of my post. i certainly will think thoughtfully about your opinion and advice. to be quite honest, the possibility scares me (and here i was drawn to the site for the horoscopes!). but, perhaps the more i learn about everything, the less fearful i will be. i will certainly look at the mediumship thread, and look forward to the possibility of also getting a reading from you in the future as you suggested (i have already requested a tarot reading, and so as to not be rude, i will probably hold off on requesting a psychic reading for a little while).

thanks again. i will keep you posted on my progress.
