I know that nearly all the tarot readers read this Psychic Forum but not many psychic readers read the Tarot Forum lol so I have chosen to post this here.....

Many readers find that after a few months or weeks or years they 'burn out' and stop giving readings. Either because they get depressed, or fed up with no feed back or because they do not 'see' anything anymore, the cards stop talking, the voices stop whispering or there are clouds of mist instead of clear pictures.

I wondered if this had ever happened to you and if it has, what did you do about it?

Perhaps we can start a discussion that supports people whilst going through this and offer tips and suggestions to avoid it happening to others.

Hi Gem,

With due respect I feel that you have quite unintentionally opened a figurative can of worms so to speak (although I applaud your efforts on our behalf), in asking for hints from readers as to how best to prevent burnout.

Here therefore is something to get the discussion started. To list every useful hint I can think of in the same posting, would I feel soon completely scare off any newbie readers from ever trying.

1. Never begin to take yourself too seriously, or feel that you are irreplaceable. It is nice to feel needed, but sometimes we should work towards getting some of our own equally important needs met, so that we can then more effectively be of service to other members. This will require us to admit that our own egos can all too easily get in the way of us doing this type of work. If you want a job to done well, you do not always necessarily need to do it yourself. Share the work load with others instead, and thereby significantly reduce or even eliminate the chances of you personally suffering premature burnout.

I would feel both pleased and privileged to offer whatever support and encouragement I can to any other readers just starting out on this board (or those planning to), IF they first request it of me.

A very worthwhile and timely topic for discussion,

Kindest regards to all,

From experience I have found that the seekers are using the freebies to live their lives by.  They are not taking personal responsibility.  Once the dialogue is opened, it sets the worms free.

Anyone seeking a freebie is not taking the whole situation with seriousness.  They are using and sometimes even abusing the readers.

If the seeker has a real problem, and it is a one off, they will find answers in the types of postings where people are generally helpful and caring.  It is not about being psychic in that instance.

So in effect they become psychic vampires and drain readers energies?

Or are you saying that if readings are free it will be abused and we should charge?
