How many of you go through phases where although you can do readings, you go through spells where you lack the energy to so? I'm not speaking of laziness or lack of focus, I'm speaking of it is too exhausting to tune in without feeling like a used tire afterwards.

I ask because I occasionally go through this, like now.   That flu kicked the living hell out of me. Summer flu's and colds linger and thrive in humidity and heat unfortunately and since then I haven't really read for anyone (except for a few that really needed it) because I need to reserve the energy I have and I have to use it to focus on other things. My question is when you go through this for yourself, other than drawing from energy surrounding you such as the good old planet earth, do you simply not read until you know you will have more energy?

I'm not really asking for advice, I'm more interested in what it is you do for yourself.

I am just getting over a summer flu as well.  Like you, I haven't done many readings either.  Never thought of it, but I am very tired after doing a reading.  If anyone has a suggestion I would love to hear it.  I do call in the light each morning when in the shower, that is the best, quietest time for me and I do feel energized for the day.

Oh yes I have ups and downs all the time.  I cancelled a reading yesterday with a sitter as it felt wrong. I just didnt have the backing at the time and knew that I would struggle at that early hour 9:30am and wouldnt give my client the best reading.  I asked my guides when would be best and am I the right person to read her they said yes I was the right person but I should make it for three days time in the afternoon and now I have the good feeling again about the reading rather than before I felt fatigue and dread about my client coming over.  I find it needs to be the right timing and pushing it instead of letting it flow is what holds me back.
I always try to not get caught out with saying yes to a potential sitter when they ask.  So many times as you all wold know your just talking about the subject and they ask if they can come and see you.  Its always best to say "Of course but once I get home I shall check my diary and call you straigt away to organise the best time."  This way it gives you a chance to get home and ask your guides when is the best time anad do you have their full backing as usual.   Your guides will always back you when working with light for the good of all but expeience shows me that when 'I' push a reading time then it makes it harder and more worrying.
I'm in a dip at the moment.  I'm not trying really hard I love to give readings but seem to talk myself out of some of them.  I find I battle with learning spiritually and working spiritually and staying logical.  When i do too many readings I'm very airy fairy etc so I need bills and life and mother stuff to work my logical brain, when I dont balance it then I dip and find I'm like this I think its a lesson of mine to learn balance with spirituality and readings and remaining physical and logical.  If i cat balance it then I find it ahrder to move between the two and end up in one state longer than the other wondering why i lost my motivation etc.

Hmmm does that make sense...ohh must'nt be too logical at the moment....I better balance soon....haha

Hi flight _of_angelwings,

It makes a lot of sense and there isn't anything wrong with being too logical; I tend to think one compensates for the other alternating on an as needed basis.   And doing one when you know you aren't up for it is forced and I never feel likes it's as good of a reading (half-hearted and I feel like I'm partially closed) as it could be when I am feeling super charged, in which case I can't wait to share it and get it all out. Though you did give me a different perspective on things. Food for thought.. thank you

As for you Mango Mom- I feel for you and I'm sorry you got the bug, it seems to be running rampant around here and it lingers. I hope you feel better soon and get plenty of rest

I honestly think readings shouldn't be forced or be done just because someone requests one. I think if one is guided to do a reading, then by all means..but sometimes I think readings can lead to further distraction to what needs to be or should be taken care of in one's life. I say that because although the reading may be true, the person may not be ready to hear what needs to be heard? I dunno. Those are just my thoughts.

But as for not feeling up to doing readings or things of such nature, I think it's best to listen to what our minds, bodies and hearts tell us, otherwise we end up draining ourselves and going further into a hole we needn't be in. Live life that's what I say.
