For a true psychic, are there a set of rules that define policy or propriety regarding what type of individuals may have their fortune told/read?

Over the course of my life I have had different psychics attempt to read me.  The first, in the late 1970's could not read anything about me except that he said I was (memory) a medium or something similar, and that he was not permitted to even attempt reading me.

I was also read by a person who can see by toouching objects you have a close connection to.  She could not get any reading from any possession, not even after holding both my hands for over a half hour.

These people did not make any guesses or give up because I wouldn't cooperate.  These were people that I met in social situations, and I did not seek them out.

Are there rules, or are some people just not readable, or perhaps I should seek out someone more experienced with a goot reputation?  Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

No to the very best of my knowledge there are no rules or restrictions which determine for whom we can or cannot read. Just because a medium or psychic including ones practising psychometry (a person who can see by touching objects you have a close connection to) does not have a message for you at the moment, this does not mean that you cannot successfully be given a psychic reading at another time.

Psychic and to a greater degree mediumship readings (which also involve one or more spirit communicators) cannot always be given on demand as if you had inserted a coin in the slot, and out comes your reading at the other end.

If there are no messages to be passed on, then an honest psychic/medium should tell you so, and happily refund any fees you may already have paid. There are other times when the message comes through that the sitter is not yet adequately prepared to accept what will later be revealed in the proper fullness of time. There are some very rare cases where it is felt that the information coming through may be used by the sitter in attempting to do harm to another person. Psychic readings are not about casting spells or making somebody do something which is against their own moral principles, or right of free will. If a person really does not love you, a psychic reading cannot change this?

Giving a reading is a complex process even at the best of times, much like interpreting a dream while fully awake, so if a reading or particular reader is not successful at that particular moment please do not take it all so personally or to heart.

Wait for a while and try again and again, perhaps with a different person. Some personality types do definitely clash, but in most cases any such clash is unconscious and it is therefore not that the psychic or medium does not like you, or that they are keeping deep, dark secrets from you.

By the way, psychic readers and fortune tellers are rarely the same people.

Fortune tellers are almost exclusively involved with predicting one of many possible futures on behalf of their clients, while psychic readers including myself are mainly interested for reading your personality type and in this manner better preparing you for whatever the future has in store for you.

Your future is not simply the result of chance or fortune, but is being constantly reshaped and remoulded by whatever decisions you make in the present moment, our only true point of power. Psychic readers wish to help the person to feel in more control of their own life, rather than leaving them believing that they are forever helpless victims of some fickle Wheel of Fortune. There is consequently not yet one future to predict!

Hoping this goes some way towards answering your question,

Your's sincerely,

EOT

Excellent description of a psychic reading.  As I a medium I can only add....you (the client) are given what you NEED not what you WANT.  In other words, a psychic is not there to confirm your own knowledge.  They are there to give you the hard line that may be necessary for you to achieve your own goals and good.

Splendiferous, enlightening point of view EOT.  In you experience as a psychic reader, have you had he chance to read a medium, a channeler, or any type of psychic reader?  Have you ever received a message or gut feeing that some factor, perhaps a spirit of some type, or some message from inside yourself indicated to you that the person you were reading should not be read?

At one point in my late tees, I was hanging out with my pack of guys sitting around dringking a little beer adn talking.  One of the guys, maybe a little older identified himself as a warlock, and indicated that he had a siter that was a witch.  We had already been talking some time before he broached the matter.  We encourage him to read whatever he could about us on an individual basis.  He was having astonishing results until he came to me.  He spent a few moment just looking at me and said, "I'm not getting anything from you, and we can discuss it later"

The "warlock", if such a thing exists, continued around the room and successfully read everyone else.  Probably eight of us total incuding him.  Later, when he stole a moment alone, I asked him why he couldn't read me.  He replied that I was a channeler of a medium, can't remember which, and said thate he was not allowed to read me.  He told me that I would understand someday.  I don't.

The woman that I met later in life, a successful practioner of psychometry was not able to read me on several occasions, which she eventually found frustating, but never said that she had any indication that I was not supposed to be read.

I have never attemted to pratice any psychic abilities that I may have inherited, yet I am fascinated by it.

My father, whom I don't know very well states that he is a sufi, and that I am likely one also.  My mother from one sida, and my grandmother from the other side of my family are both what I would call a witch.   I love them both dearly, so I don't mean it in a derogatory way.  One could tell the other that they were dialing the phone to call them, while the other would stand next to their phone and answer it knowing full well who it was.

I know one thing I did was wrong.  I cast a curse on a person, and the curse came through and took them down a miserable path along which she still probably travels.  Could have been coincidence.

How does one discover a means to identify any personal proclivity to psychic abilities that might be significantly developed to help people?

I know EOT stands for eye of tiger, but those three letters are also the first characters of the expression "End Of Time".

spiritalk, I appreciate you taking the time to express your agreement with the response from EOT.  I also would ask if you have read or been read by another medium, and if so, what is your impression of the overall results?

Thanks so much for your time and thought.
