Hi everyone :]
I have a question about Mediumship. When contacting spirits how do they communicate with you, and how do you communicate with them?
I think its so interesting how everyone has their special technique sometimes. Do many of you speak to them and they respond verbally? Or do you do it through symbols, or other ways? For me, its mostly all verbal.

The answer to your excellent question very much depends on the preferences of spirit who is attempting to communicate, as well as his or her medium. While I believe that we all to a certain degree possess the entire range of psychic abilities, generally one or two of them will already be more developed than the others.

If a particular spirit prefers to communicate visually through symbols (clairvoyance) but the medium is mainly a psychic hearer (or clairaudient), then other spirit helpers and guides can translate what the original spirit is trying to say into thoughts and words which the medium can better understand, then pass on in turn to the sitter.

If a spirit badly needs to get a message through to us, then a way will be found, so there is no need to worry that you have failed as a medium simply because it might take a little longer to make the necessary arrangements on the higher side of life.

I've never thought of what you described above, such as spirits who try to convery a message but the medium can't really use that form of communication so their guides translate the information to a way you can understand. That makes a lot of sense. I appreciate your response Eye of Tiger

I have so many more questions but I'm off to Italy for 2 weeks. When I get back I'm sure I'll have many questions. Have a great summer

We use all our senses. So if the medium is willing to use their whole being...body, mind, spirit...in the communication/attunement process, the message will come from one, two, or more and mostly be felt as a totality that is hard to separate.

I think everyone is different, it depends on what a person is open to, capable of and I suppose a lot has to do with how well the spirit is able to communicate.

1. Sometimes I don't see or hear them, but sense them and what they are feeling.
2. Sometimes I can see them, but not hear them and only sense what they are feeling.
3. Sometimes I can see them, and not hear or not sense what they are feeling.
4. Sometimes I can see and hear them and/or sense what they are feeling.
5. Sometimes I can't see them, I only hear them.

Each one communicates differently, some in symbols that I need to decipher and others mean exactly what they are saying without use of symbolism.
