Hi Everyone, Im new here
I have a question that has been on my mind for a while now. Hopefully there are experienced psychics here that can asnwer it.
Why is it that many psyshics are able to give information about someone and situations and so on but when it comes to specific information such as guessing a card number on the back of a playing card they usually fail?
I've been working with my guide and he's great when it comes to tell me information about people and so on, but when it comes to predicting the number or color on the back of a playing card...well we tend to fail a lot.
So why is this?
Thankyou

Hi Robert,

This question probably should have been posted in the Psychic forum instead of this one (you are not asking for an actual reading this time?), but the main reason I believe that many genuine psychics fail at correctly guessing a card number is that psychic abilities were not given to us simply in order to play games. Neither were they given to us to make us shrewd and successful card sharps.

It is my personal opinion that these abilities were given to us in order that we may help other people who come to us in need of assistance. If the situation about which we are attempting to gain psychic information does not actually involve a person who is in genuine need of assistance, there is no sense of connection on which to base a valid psychic reading. It is extremely difficult to make a spiritual connection or feel any common sense of humanity with the concealed face of a playing card?

The reason why parapsychologists use guessing cards as a research tool instead of experiments involving real life situations out of genuine need are that it makes it much easier to accumulate statistics and to test out any theories by attempting to duplicate them under carefully controlled conditions n a laboratory. Spiritual and psychic experiences in the real world with real people do not lend themselves particularly well to such an artificial and sterile situation as is found in many such laboratories. Even the most gifted psychics will often fail when subjected to such great amounts of stress as to getting the information 100% correct on every individual attempt.

Kindest regards,

Hi thankyou for your reply
I undersand where you are coming from and I agree 100%. I'm not really talking about this form of guessing as a card trick but to streangthen ones connection with your spirit guide and the other side.
I've seen this psychic game a lot, and many recommend it to streangthen your connection by practicing and feeling the colors/numbers and so on from the card.
When I do this game with my guide for fun and to strengthen our connection I heard his voice but many times the choice of color or number I hear is wrong. Im usually 60-70% correct when it comes to guessing colors.  So I was just wondering if guides can tell you specific information aout people, then why is it so hard for them to say the right card numbers/color? Is it because of a lack of strong connection or mental subconscious block?

My guide told me that when asking for specific questions like numbers and colors of a card, the conscious mind comes in and tells you that is not possible. But when you ask for information in a more broaden sense then the answer can flow easier because your not asking a specific right or wrong and the mind is more open to interpretation. Im not sure if that makes sense, sorry.

I personally use the Tarot deck to serve mainly as a focus in order to enhance my own intuitive abilities, and I am not particularly interested in debating the general meanings given in Tarot dictionaries. I have also heard of other readers who use a common pack of playing cards in a similar manner, quite successfully according to their clients.

On several occasions right in the middle of giving a Tarot reading, although I do not consider myself to be a trained medium, I suddenly become aware of the presence of a spirit communicator (not always but including spirit guides) who wishes me to pass on a message to the sitter.

Most serious psychic research uses Zenner cards instead of normal ones. While these and many other tools of divination can be used by psychics and mediums in order to strengthen and enhance their abilities as a reader, they should only I feel be used to a certain point beyond which they can cause the reader to become entirely dependent on them (rather like a good luck charm that they believe that must have on them at all times if they are going to be able to continue to do this work).

In some countries combining the use of the Tarot or any other cards with a mediumship reading is frowned upon, or is at least discouraged on the basis that they believe true mediumship if it comes from God should not require these types of tools to be used as crutches, but as a development tool I certainly do not regard them as being harmful. I also feel that the largely artificial barrier we have erected between our up until now fairly rigid definitions of what is a medium and what is a psychic are rapidly breaking down, and the division between them is becoming increasingly vague to say the least.

Especially when you are beginning to work with your spirit guide, it is extremely difficult to sort out what psychic information comes directly from Spirit, and what supposed information is really an educated guess. This is even more the case when developing clairaudience (psychic hearing). Sorting out what is a genuine spirit communication from our own louder background thoughts?

Another problem as I see it is that whatever is the original source of the information (whether from Spirit, whether it comes from the sitter's aura or whether instead it is wishful thinking on your part), it all must be first filtered through the person's imagination and his or her subconscious mind. In other words the information is coloured or distorted to a certain extent by first needing to pass through several levels of our own minds or thought processes, before it finally reaches our conscious awareness.
