You can have anything you wish in your life but if your sense of self-worth or your happiness depends on having it, then you are attached to it. Whoever or whatever you are attached to can manipulate you. You are no longer free. You are a puppet on a string.






Cords are formed between people who have unresolved issues between them. Every time you send thoughts or words of anger, hurt , jealousy, envy  or need to someone , you manifest a tiny thread which attaches to them. An occasional thought will dissolve but if you constantly send negative feeling out, the threads will form cords or ropes. These will remain and bind you together until they are released.






In subsequent lifetimes, the cords will reactivate and draw you inevitably towards those with whom you have unresolved issues.This in order to offer your souls the opportunity to do things differently. We can also be attached to things.






Negative energy such as greed, pride, need and envy can send huge cords to objects like houses, cars, jobs or bank accounts. This is why we refer to the "trappings of wealth".






A master is detached. He is independent of status, finance or emotional need. He is free and immensely powerful.






You can have a beautiful home. Of course, God wants you to have a beautiful home. However, if you need to live in that beautiful home to give you Happiness, status or security, it becomes a trapping.



Cords tie you to your home and you are emotionally bound until you change your attitude. A master can enjoy a fabulous home but if it is taken away, it does not affect how he feels about himself or Life.






You can enjoy a wonderful relationship. The Source of All wants you to be happy in Love. Neediness, however, cords you to your partner with the result that you are tugged to and fro emotionally. Codependent relationships enmesh you in cords so that it is difficult to feel and behave objectively in the relationship or to leave your partner.






When parents become bound to their children, it is hard to release them to adulthood. Equally a child may be so attached to a parent that it is very difficult to form a mature adult relationship with a partner.




Attachment is conditional Love.




A master loves you unconditionally and this does not form cords. He allows the people he loves to be free and to be themselves. If someone he loves leaves or dies, he mourns but is not devastated. He remains centered.



If you need someone to behave a certain way in order to love them, it is NOT LOVE. It is attachment.



When we force our hopes and expectations on people, they react from their own pattern. When we accept them as they are, diplomatically show them the way and let them freedom to choose to react as they want, they then reveal their magnificence to us. That is LOVE



The bindings of attachment can be released in a number of ways. Love dissolves them and sets them free. You set yourself free.



Forgiveness dissolves cords all the time.



The other most powerful way of releasing attachment is by intention and visualization.



Detachment is a prerequisite for enlightenment.

Just to clarify the following sentence  : "If you need someone to behave a certain way in order to love them, it is NOT LOVE. It is attachment."



It doesn't mean you shouldn't have a vision for the kind of people you want around you.



When you look at a person who put themselves down all the time and wish that they would wake up to their Beautiful Divine Nature by pointing (delicately and without forcing) ways in order to do so; I may be wrong but that's real LOVE because you know of all the Peace of mind and Joy that such recognition will bring to them.



You are not forcing them to become what you see but you are helping them to be more helpful, not only to themselves, but to others too. It is no secret that by knowing your Divine Nature and acting accordingly you help the world at the same time, no matter how small your circle of service may be.


The same is true for you who has a notion of what being the son or daughter of God/Allah/the Goddess…means, you wouldn't be doing what you are doing now and helping others at the same time; that's LOVE



You have LOVE for them and that's LOVE that make you want what's best for them but what is highly important you allow them Free will in realizing that fact. Even if it takes them to make mistakes for many years prior understanding that you were right ages ago  .I am sure God and all the parents reading know perfectly what the previous sentence means.  





Ok, in most of those cases of detachment, you have souls being trapped and hovering around until they are released. I will talk a bit about it with 2 movies that you may have already seen and which deal with the etheric cords:



1-The movie "GHOST" (Sorry guys but the "spoiler" below is needed )



This may be more famous because of the romantic story.


The soul of the character played by Patrick Swayze was trapped on earth because he was attached to his wife(emotionally that is...). He thought that he would lose his happiness by losing her. Well, both loved each other and there is nothing wrong with that, it is quite normal (and expected) in a couple. They both had lessons to learn in order for their souls to grow.



In that movie, the question of mediumship is dealt with too; well, some of its aspects with the character played by Whoopi Goldberg



At the end , when he learnt to release his wife, he was now able to carry on his journey on the other side.


There are plenty of other lessons from that movie, but I wanted to draw the attention with the Law of detachment and etheric cords. There is a beautiful story built to explain things but I would say that everything in it is not true when it comes to death and the passing on the other side. That's only the Hollywood version of it.




2-The second movie is :  WHAT DREAMS MAY COME (Sorry guys but the "spoiler" below is needed too )


Also quite famous for it describes also a lovely story built around a couple who had here again formed etheric cords with each other.



The soul of the character played by Robin Williams had really beautiful thoughts, as a real son or daughter of God should. That explains why he went into a mind-blowing place (literally and figuratively) and the special effects in the movie are really great in depicting what happens. Contrary to the first movie and despite his love for his wife, he wasn't really attached to her; it was the opposite here.



Another fact which shows that he wasn't attached is because once he heard the news that she died, he was cheerfully expecting her to join him .


His wife too had beautiful thoughts but lacked Faith in a beneficent deity.



Besides, she had formed cords and that was revealed by the fact that she didn't really found inspiration in continuing loving Life once her children (first) and husband (later) "fled" to the other side. She had nothing to hold on to psychologically speaking.



Nature doesn't really agree, so to speak, with suicide and the movie describes that fact quite well. A body which is "sacrificed" could have been used to spread the Light and in that sense Nature "looks" at suicide with an air of "what a waste!"  and It explains why she went where she went.



Those who think that they will escape Life and its responsibilities by killing themselves should watch that movie as it will give them a kind of preview of what awaits them if they decide to give it a try.



Most of them would avoid it. Why? Well, because they would realize that they would be more alive than ever if they tried and that they would have to come back to face what they tried to run away from.As simple as that.



Moroever, if you look well behind the matter, it is not really Life that they don't like, it is the conditions that they are in that they disgust. In the movie, for instance, if her husband was still present she would be happy and still love Life.



Now, another Truth that a lot of people don't yet know is that Life is a bit like a painting that look at. If you like at the painting and you like it, regardless of how it is framed, you will still enjoy the painting for its own sake because it is beautiful and surely you will spread the word about it.



On the other end, if you don't like the painting, regardless of how it is presented to you, you will all the time be disappointed by what you see.



I may shock some people by saying: "Life is Abundant and Beautiful"

By the statement above, I mean that, not only because I BELIEVE ENTIRELY that but also because it is a principle like Gravity


Speaking of Gravity, it's a Principle. It makes no matter if you are a Christian, Buddhist, Muslim, agnostic or whatever other beliefs you may hold, whether you believe in Gravity or not , whether you've heard it before or not, no matter what country you are in or from; Jump out of the window now and you will indeed realize that Gravity exists.



To come back to the example of Life , I will say that I may like Life or not, I may agree with the fact that it so or not , I may have many problems that may blind me for some time but it will never change the fact that LIFE is indeed Abundant and Beautiful . It is like that because God created it like that. Besides, I cannot imagine a Good God having a moody and changeable temper .



You can decide to have more experience by choosing what you want to think and stick to thinking that LIFE is indeed Abundant and Beautiful. If you do I can ensure you that the Law of Attraction will make it possible for you to have more reasons to think like that.


On the other end, you can rebel against Life and say no ! "It is worthless, devoid of any sense of fun and "boring". Here again I can ensure you that you are "right"  too because the Law of Attraction will give you even more problems to think about and reinforce your thinking.


Somebody once said : "whether you think you can or can't, you're right" ; well, he must have known how the Law of attraction works


In that film too, there are plenty of things that are true when it comes to the Heavenly realm while others are Hollywood's. The question of Reincarnation is brushed off a bit too.



In those 2 movies, the cords have been cut by the understanding that each soul got through the experiences they went through; it was automatic and didn't involve the characters calling some Angels or Archangels as some of us would do. As soon as you realize (as in know unwaveringly) that you are safe, that knowledge automatically forms a barrier around you which protects you and cut whatever cords you may have. It is done by Spiritual Law. To reach that knowledge involves spiritual practice and discipline.



Both films succeed in teaching (for those who have "ears" ) this : if you really put your attention and expectation on anything external to give you peace of mind, security , happiness, abundance and pleasurable gratification other than God, you are trapped with cords stronger than steel.
