It is frequently much easier for us to explain the contents of a particular reading, rather than making any sweeping generalisations as to how we could make it easier for you to understand every of them (or a reading given by somebody else).
As a reader I am basically looking at your personality, and am intuitively receiving information from your personal energy field or aura as to how to make the most of your many positive qualities, while at the same time helping you to more effectively deal with the more negative ones (we all have these).
Rather than reading your mind, I am attempting to learn about the type of person you already are (complex to say the least, as all humans are) and therefore on this basis read between the lines as to how you would most likely react to a particular challenge which is placed in your path. Hopefully as readers we can then offer you some further insights to assist you to get through whatever happens with both hope and good humour.
But the reading is written in the language of the reader's own unconscious mind, just as your dreams are written in your own dreaming mind's way of expressing things. The problem we face is to translate what we feel something means into something which will have personal meaning and use to you. While I constantly make a genuine effort as a reader to do what I humanly can to make the meanings in my readings significantly clearer, I am just as imperfect as you are, and I sometimes even with the very best of intentions fail at what I have set out to do - to explain what I meant to say in terms you can fully understand.
That is why I encourage people to whom I have given a reading to ask any questions they may still have arising out of that same reading (new questions will require another reading to be done) and to most importantly provide me with feedback, so that I can more fully explain anything which I see could be causing confusion between us. In other words, if you do not let me know on the forums if you are confused about what I wrote in your reading then I will never know, and the intention of me giving you a reading in order to make your path an easier one will have been sadly lost.
That being said, not everything that has been said in a reading will make perfect sense to you at the time. This is why I always suggest that you should make a text copy of all your readings (with the date included), as the number of times that people have got back to me weeks or months after giving them a reading and have told me that something which previously made no sense is now coming true is too many for me to be able to remember. For the moment, take whatever is relevant and useful from your reading, ask further questions about the reading as we are not mind readers, then archive your readings for future reference.

Thank You Eye_Of_Tiger what you wrote made some sense to me, I'll keep that in mind for my future readings.

I find this a problem all the time with the I Ching, I'll be doing a reading for someone and I sit there totally bemused.
I never inquire what their query is as I think that to so would colour how I react to what comes up.
Of course usually it's about money or sex (to bring it right down) but just sometimes it clicks so well and those are the ones I love.
Sorry Samson I have no advise, just to let you know you are not alone.
