Hi Bettina,
This is the part where I mentioned it's not others you need to learn to believe in again and regain your faith, but you need to find that in yourself. I don't want to appear smug, but I'm going to suggest you re-read my post just for your own peace of mind. I know it seems long-winded, but it is because I am very detailed. There are a lot of messages in there for you based on what you just told me ;)
As for people being opportunists, yes... some people are like that. But it is something that is beyond our control - to control another person intentions or actions. What we can control is how we respond, react to it and how we feel about it - in addition, what to look for and how to avoid it if we can. Just remember not everyone is an opportunist, and there are a lot of very good-natured people out there. Some of them you will find here.
My best to you... keep your chin up.

Hi there,
Well, I guess, it was time for me to get a insight in this and actually, considering what goes on the world, this is quite trivial. It saddens me and deeply dissappoints my belief in human beings. It looks like , that given the chance, most humans have no problem disadvantaging another human being, even if there is no gain for them. If they can benefit, no matter how small the gain, they usually go for it. I thought it was vice versa . LOL |
