How can you tell?

I am new to this and there is soooo much info out there.

Is there a way to find out if you are one or the other or both if that is possible?

I tried doing a search but couldn't find anything.

I can't think of any reason why you can't do both.  do you think you can't?

We are spirit within and this is the part of us that is light.  The more we practice spirituality, the brighter the light.  And at the same time, this is the part of us we attune with our guides from...spirit to spirit.  I would say, all things are possible!

I would think the two go hand in hand....

Ah, can you be a lightworker without empathy?  Yes, you can.  

Empathy is a tool or skill of the spirit in which you can 'wear' (for want of a better term) all the emotions of those in your environment.  You would actually be feeling from the spirit and can dismiss the physical symptoms...they are just manifest to inform.

A lightworker is someone with sympathy and compassion for the others that comes from the spirit.  It lights up their countenance from the spirit within when they spiritualize their activities.

Not all empathy workers need be lightworkers and not all lightworkers need have empathy.
