As opposed to intricately twisted logic and powered pronouncements from vacuous realms in SPACE and TIME, concurrent and past and in some cases future (!), what has held my attention and of those who came to me as compatriots and teachers and what they left with me has been simple and straightforward!
When you are in a grocery store, focus on the lettuce and carrots and avoid the impulse to look for Yamaha stereo receivers! (I know some of the chains are working hard to drill a big hole into that sentence/analogy of mine!)
More importantly, while in the grocery store and looking for omega 3 eggs, do not close your ears to the useful new information that says that you can now claim what you spend on bus passes on your income tax claim!
You may choose to ignore the sound byte that said: An ancient scroll was recently discovered in Peru and it described nine critical insights that may raise the world to a higher spiritual level. <OR YOU may not!>
YOU GET IT, I KNOW, dear forum members!
Everything could be important, but only if you kept your ears cocked and OPEN!
HOW DO WE DO THAT? IN these times of information overload, and some of the esoteric, archaic stuff is not even intelligible B-(
WHAT ARE YOUR PERSONAL STRATEGIES FOR MANAGING THAT?
<Sorry for using the above obvious examples!!>

Isn't there a filter in the brain that says...listen when the information is valid and useful? I seem to know when it is time to hear the message the universe is sending. Why would you be in the right place for the right thing to happen? Because you live to be in the right place is how it happens.

Dear ST,
Yes you are right, there is a fine mesh filter in all brains that does exactly that or originally was supposed to!
The trouble is that there is so much scum floating around in the Spiritual and worldly Pond that most filters get clogged very quickly!
The solution or prevention actually then is to have a spiritual practice which one engages in regularly and which reverses the clog-that-prevents-one from taking in finer and subtle melodies of the Universe that Oh So Badly Want to Enter our spirits if only we could keep our pores open!
The spiritual practice could be as simple as LOVE.
But I don't need to tell you or the August forum here that! We are like the new Inkjet printers that periodically and automatically go into the cleaning cycle and unclog the jets/filter!
Seriously -- I am not trying to be funny or irreverent. S/He who slips on the daily maintenance autotherapy known as meditative unclogging becomes subject to spiritual obstipation!
Did I just make a neologism? Can someone google on my behalf?
