I feel that someone around you is sick of having cats in their yard etc and that for quite some time now when they have ventured out they have been met by a rather harsh reception from a neighbour whom has thrown stuff at them, flicked rubber bands their way etc.  Your other cats are aware of this and I feel they know your cat met with foul play due to this person therefore may want to stick cloer to home so as not to meet the same demise.
Now dont assume this is all correct and start accusing your neighbours who may have taken your cat, hurt it or dumped it at the RSPCA.  I'm just relaying what I feel may have gone wrong to your pet.  It may pay to keep them indoors and keep a close eye on them.  I dont in anyway know exaclty what may have occured or if your cat is safe or harmed but I do strongly feel that a neighbour has had enough of straying cats in and around their property.  Is there anyway you can contain them from venturing out unrestricted?

I think you are all confusing esp with body language. It is in the animals best interests to read you like a book. Here's a piece on 'Clever Hans' that should tidy it up.
Clever Hans (in German, der Kluge Hans) was a horse that was claimed to have been able to perform arithmetic and other intellectual tasks.

After formal investigation in 1907, psychologist Oskar Pfungst demonstrated that the horse was not actually performing these mental tasks, but was watching the reaction of his human observers. Pfungst discovered this artifact in the research methodology, wherein the horse was responding directly to involuntary cues in the body language of the human trainer, who had the faculties to solve each problem. The trainer was entirely unaware that he was providing such cues.

In honour of Pfungst's study, the anomalous artifact has since been referred to as the Clever Hans effect and has continued to be important knowledge in the observer-expectancy effect and later studies in animal cognition.

Lol I have taught one of my horses to count Its easy with the right incentive, trainer and horse lol.  ESp is totally different to body language though.

But what people are writting here is just body language, a horse not going through mud is just a clever horse it's not telepathic, which brings to anothet point' extra sensory perception (esp) is not a 'catch all' phrase for general use.
Esp should be used to decribe phenomina that are outside of normal perceptions. Of course cats know when you are ill, they read your body language.
True esp would be something like your cat bringing you a tissue the day before you knew you were ill.
I have been around animals all my life, from fish to bulls, and i have seen lots of animals that could read me, my current puppy knows when she is being left behind because she reads my intentions in the way I move/ignore her/don't wear the same shoes.

Human psychic abilities have also been tested for body language.  The conclusion doesn't hold up.  Just a thought...
