Yes, British, you are right! Remember that love is the strongest tool we have, in SO many ways!! Send all your wishes out in Love. Make sure it all fits in to the framework of Love. It's so strong, and always gets the best response. Hate is the lowest vibration; although hateful wishes may seem effective and serving your purpose momentarily, it will always turn on you. Fill yourself with Love, and always act through it. It's so hard, and many times you must swallow your pride, but it is worth it.

I must admit that I am a parent and when I was a teen, I thought I knew everything.  Boy did that change.  I have done everything from ouija boards to automatic writing.  You have to be careful what you get into.  My niece started fooling around with a ouija board when she was young and we couldn't get it away from her.  We even took it miles away and threw it into the trash.  When we got home the board was back with her.
That is why most parents want to watch out for their children, to protect them.  It is good that your Mom is advising you on your journey.  We all experiment to find our paths but sometimes the journey is not easy.  Please think  positively and learn but find your own truth.  Not everything you read is true.  
 At your age the world seems full of adventure and fun.  Don't be so serious that you forget to be young.  Learn but feel inside what is right.

i think i understand what you are saying - it is similar to The Law of Attraction - send out positive thoughts and visualise what you want and you will receive it from the universe.However it has been said that it is something you must not doubt, asif you doubt then the universe does not know what to do for you, because you give confusing messages.
