I heard words spoken clearly as if someone was in the room with me, while nobody was there. It happened only 2-3 times. The first 2 times it was just strange words I could not understand, the third time it was the number "22".
A friend of mine heard "OM" clearly pronounced, and as she didn't know about it, she asked me and when I explained it to her she was in shock for a while I don't think she had other clariaudience episodes since then, but that one was indeed memorable!

Sabhel -- I just "knew" it! At another time, when I called out his name, I saw a light blue light near me -- very briefly. So, I know he is near me. It seems to be easier to connect to people who you've been close to in some way on the physical realm, though I'd like to be able to develop my abilities more a la John Edwards or Van Praagh. Still, experienced mediums say to be careful when you open up to other realms, as you can get a rip or hole in your aura...so I'm not really pursuing this currently. Any experiences from anyone else out there?

I have heard alot of things from trying to contact departed Spirits, but a 'hole in your aura' was not one of them. Was that info in a book? It upsets me that misinformation is 'out there', as Metaphysical Law #1 is 'Think it and you will produce it!' Thoughts are things, and a form of energy. If you fear something you can draw it to you.

All of us should be protecting ourselves with a 'white light' bubble for our own protection every day. Just quietly sit with your eyes closed and take in ten slow breaths and bring in 'light' through the top of your head. Visually bring the light down into your solar plexes and down to the feet and ground yourself. Bring more 'light' in and expand your aura out around you in a protective bubble as far as you can. There are alot of things in the Astral Plane 4th demension that we do not want to encounter!

There are alot of discarnate spirits and energies in the Astral and here that it is well advised to please always surround and protect yourself, with 'Light'.

I worked as a researcher for The American Society for Psychical Research, in Manhattan for a Dr. Karlos Osis. I worked as a Ghost Buster, for lack of a better term. Being called into peoples homes, NYC apartments, as a team to see if we could rid families of Spirits and Polterguiests who were creating havoc in the house. My job was to see them, identify them and release them, if that was possible. This was very enjoyable and exciting to me.

Another project was to see people who would 'Astrally Project' from all over the world at a designated time and come into Dr. Osis's Office to view objects on a large table. There was a huge stepladder 20' in the room and I had the pleasure of sitting on it with another researcher on the couch, to see if we could see the Astral Body. Dr. Osis was in India doing deathbed studies with Dr. Ian Stevenson, so I was elected to sit on the huge ladder. I saw the woman come in through the window as an energy, a Spirit form that was yellow light. She traveled around the room remote viewing and stayed in front of the table for awhile and was directly in front of the ladder. We wrote a report of what we observed of her. When she sent her report to Dr. Osis, she named evey object on that table. And she had seen me on that ladder! She was puzzled in seeing me with waist long hair and sitting on the ladder. She asked Dr. Osis, 'Who was the 'hippie' (flowerchild) sitting on the railroad tracks?' We roared. . . She had definately been there and I was the hippie on the railroad tracks! Successful experiment!

I have had many encounters with Spirits of deceased relatives and sometimes I could 'see' them. Other times it was a 'presence' and 'knowing' they were there with messages that I could 'hear', usually a warning of some kind. I am laughing, as this is 'normal' for me! I would love to be John Edwards. . . I just never choose to develop this 'gift' any further. . .

hello everyone this is sabhel. Reading everyones messages are very educating and interesting. I too have sensed someone but not seen or seems like quite often i think my son is in the hallway peeking in my bedroom door to ask me something and its not him i get a quick glimpse then gone. I don't know what kind of messages are trying to get across if any but this has happened since I was young " more so the feeling of a presence" I use to fear but now try to say hello and welcome and let it go and so far no scary stuff or out of the ordinary like on movies.

One thing though could dreams somehow bring deceased forth to send messages? my cousin was murdered and he came to me showed me the home and well there were red stairs in the hallway...cut a story short when the news showed the home on tv for the first time there were the stairs...red and the door to the right that he was taken into....Im just confused what messages were trying to get across and what could I of done???? I also sometimes get a pain near my third eye and then a very quick vision and these have later happened with again homes I never been to or even animals and vehicles never seen before till it happens and somehow I seem to share the vision w/ either a family member to the one it may happen or someone their near to????? what is this if anyone knows of a name for me to try to educate myself so maybe someday I can try to recieve messages if any bein given to me for a reason. ....lil confused for the time being....but positive thoughts and Yes I agree to sheild yourself with the white light positive energy and negative as well has proven positive and negative effects that can be refreshing or exhausting on us...so I prefer to shield myself too...smiles.

I read in "Connecting With Your Spirit Guides" that some mediums begin their careers by sort of connecting without a true grounding and over time, this can lead to physical problems for them -- and leave them susceptible to lower entities. Also, the food you eat and lifestyle you lead can affect you, too, of course -- so if you eat very unhealthily, this can affect your own vibrations.
Sabhel -- that's so interesting that you were a "ghostbuster"! I've done small space clearing for friends...wish I knew more about this. I tend to pick up on past emotions that are held in the house and kind of process them, so afterward I feel a little tired and have to "clear" myself. I do use a smudge stick. I have come across some "heavy" energy before, which sort of scared me, so I haven't done space clearings in a while. I do this on an intuitive level. Anyone else???
