I have read up on this in the past. If u want to know the names of your guides, my best advice, on top of meditating, is to ask for their guidance about there name in your dreams. Make statements before u go to bed about what u would like to know. When it comes down to it, I think that it is really up to you and what feels right is their name. Of course it would be nice to learn their real name that they are called by.

An interesting point...the first lesson of spirit is humility - the spirit is no longer interested in earth life accomplishments and accolades - the spiritual lesson is the key. Guides do not come back for earth life recognition - they are beyond that and their names of little to no significance in the exercise of guiding.
Energy work means a change of energy in the attunement process.
