My computer and iPod are playing up - what should I be grounding? The computer itself or me?!

Or perhaps the energies are just pretty strong at the moment and I need to sit it out? Perhaps a jasper or haemetite (sp?!) crystal on the desk?!

I have heard of someone doing Reiki on computers; maybe I need some external healing done on it, LOL.

Rather interesting.  I've never really noticed that psychic activity can effect electronics.  Except one time I was taken, completely out of the blue, by a desire to see if I could turn the volume down on my speakers without any physical contact.  I didn't manage that but the light's flickered.  I chalked it up to coincidence because we lived close to the end of the line from ergon (the electicity provider in the area), so brownouts were common, especially at dinner time.

On reflection haematite might not be the best to put on the desk, too magnetic and not good around electronics.

I have heard of some psychics who try to tape readings, only to find that nothing gets recorded, and I think I drained my iPod of power during a very stressful day, just by touching it. Thus malfunctions could be caused by the exercise of conflicting energies, and since grounding is required to rest these energies or turn them down, thus it could work to help malfunctions. Power surges can affect systems directly through the cables, but indirect charges - like that from a haematite stone - might also conspire against circuitry. We are already warned not to put magnets near electronic data-storage items like floppy disks and credit cards.

I find the iPod "knows" the mood of the day or gives out specific tunes that I "need" to hear. Probably not directly related to psychic energy though, probably some kind of synchronicity.

It's not the magnetism itsself that damages electrical items, it's the "flux" or change in the magnetic field.  When you move a magnet over a wire, you cause electrons to move, hence creating electricity.  Inversely, wrapping a wire around a soft iron core and passing a current through it magnetises the iron.  Electricity and magnetism can never be seperated from eachother.  Obviously, if you thrust a magnet onto your hard drive, you'll probably royally screw it up.  If, however, you slowly move it into the same vicinity, I think you'd run a much smaller chance of screwing things up.  Of course, you also have to move it away slowly.  Of course, I'm not saying put a lump of haematite on your iPod - that would just be stupid :P.  I just felt the need to show off my knowledge of physics :-P
