Darkness surrounds you, evil closes in
Your eyes once bright with laughter
Are now cold and seem empty within
What happened to the man I used to know?
Cause its that man I long for each day.
I still don't understand why he went away
Circumstances may be bad, that is true.
But things that occur don't have to change you.
Quit wallowing in your sorrow and find a way
To get back to life and living for today.




I wrote this about a good friend of mine who after a series of unfortunate mistakes both of his own doing and at the hands of others just gave up on life and everything.
