Along the hillside lies a crevice
Inside that is an Amethyst ring
Uncut and unpolished though
Awaiting the silversmith's bling
Made by chemicals of a cosmos
A meteorite from ions of galaxies
Crashing through the stratosphere
Shrinking from sunlit gravities
Purple from the indigo shadow
Inside the rainbow of a stripe
Dazzling human eyes that mellow
Of a colour that is competely ripe
The seventh ray to beam the earth
A hue that ends the physical realm
A shade that compliments the birth
Of ultra violet and light to beam
It ends our knowledge or it begins
To make us wonder what is beyond
The colour that our sunlight spins
An aubergine oasis ensembles here
Against my silver sterling band
The beautiful present given to me
That will one day dress my hand
To remind me of the light in you
Your soul comes from far away
From the brightest star beyond us
The shade to end the night to day
As lilac grows in bunches of lavender
I mark the day you bring me love
On the 7th day of the calendar
Purple light, Purple bright it braves
A colour fit for a royal wedding
And with that I am divinely blessed
And blessed is thus in our blessing
My beautiful and lovely Amethyst
The colour to complete my dressing
