The pastors should just tell the truth. You are giving your 10% to the Mercedes dealership and the liquor store! At least you are if you live in the town I grew up in. Though I guess we should just be happy he was just a drunk and not a kiddie diddler. In this day and age most people need 110% of their income just to take care of their families. God should just be happy with them giving of their time do his work, and leave it at that.

Maintenance (building, group, etc.) takes funds no matter how you slice it. Dunning people for money is not a good thing, to be sure. Written or not written doesn't matter - all money, like any other energy, needs to come from the heart.
