I size have had two life changing experiences, the first was at age sixteen, and the second at age sixtyfive. I came from a very poor family and received little or no supervision. During the mid 50s we lived in Long Beach Ca,which at the time to survive you had to belong to a gang. I joined a gang and during the fall of 1957 I was getting into a lot of trouble with the police. I had gotten into some bad trouble and was scheduled to appear in court. I was told that I had a good chance of going to jail until my eighteenth birthday. The night before my court date I was walking home from a late movie when a strange feeling came over me and some how I was directed down a dark alley behind my house,half way down the alley I found my self standing in front of a number of old rent garages. They all seamed locked except for one in the middle, although extreamlly frightened I opened the door of the middle garage and there standing in a corner was an angel, although the garage was only about 8feet high the angel appeared to stand ten-twelve feet tall without touching the ground. Although I could not make out a face I knew it was a woman. She was surronded by very bright golden and white light. She did not speak but communicated to me that everything would be ok, and I would get another chance. The next day I went to court and although I drew the hardness judge in the system, I received probation. Two months later I joined the Army and was promoted to Sargent at age eighteen, later on ,the Army sent me to college and I received a commission
as an officer,I retired as a Lt Col. My second experience happened at age sixtyfive when I had a liver transplant caused by something I picked up in Viet Nam. Although the transplant went well I pick up a speth infection and spent three months in the ICU. At one point I was so sick my wife was told that if things did not improve within 24 hrs I would die. During this period I had a vision that I walking in the clouds and felt some one beside me, upon turning I found myself walking beside Jesus it was communicated to me that I still had some things to finish in my life and I knew I would be ok. The next day I started recovering. So you can see I am a true believer.
