I would think of myself as mentally strong, but not physically strong at all.  

What you've all said about a "double life" and "hidden life" absolutely struck a chord with me.  I lived through intense trauma as a child, and then a period in my late teens where I felt as though I had to become an entirely new person to cope, mentally.  While I still have memories from times before, say, age 18, I see them as though I am looking through a filter, with the emotion very dulled.  In a way, it feels to me that, who I was then is not who I am now.  It's been a difficult concept to grasp, and it is odd, yet comforting, to hear that this is mirrored in my palm.

I definitely do have a very strong inner life.  I think of myself as a thoughtful person, but don't do well in "real life" interactions with people, and have a tendency to withdraw.  I do like people, I just don't know what to do with myself around them!

I had many grand dreams for my future, and thought of myself as a spiritual, artistic person.  Marriage and having a child, I thought of as a part of this.  But, I have had to go through problems with addiction, from my husband, and his lies have made me skeptical, practical, colder.  I don't like this new vision of myself, because it feels so far departed from who I feel that I really am.  I hope that, with time, I can heal and become less cold.

If some a ball is thrown at you, with which hand will you catch it? That is your active palm. Your life has seen tremendous change as you grew up from being very sentimental and emotional to a mentally strong character.

I would usually catch a ball with both hands, but am more likely to use my right hand for most things. You are right, that I have gone through this change.  Lately I have been forced to set my emotions aside to do things that are best for my family, regardless of how I feel.
