There are different types of finger tips. In most of the Palmistry Books palms are classified as Squrae, Spatulate, Conic, Psychic, elementary, philosophic and mixed hand. But Benham simply refers to the fingers and the finger tips for evaluation of the nature of a person.
The fingers can be spatulate, square, conic or psyhic in appearance but have different tips on the fingers. Hence we study in this chapter the tips of the fingers. The life current enters the fingers through their tips. The Spatulate tip named after druggists spatula has a broader tip. Hence spatulate tips presents resistance to the life current entering the finger and hence such a person is practical and has commonsense. The moving desire of the spatulate tip is for action, exercise and movement. Such persons are inventive, full of energy, always on the go. He loves everything which has action whether it be books, sports or anything that depicts action. He cannot be still. He is original in his approach and does not copy or tread on the oft beaten path.
The square tip of the finger indicates regularity, order, system, arrangement in everything. They are punctual, disciplined and want everyone else to be the same. Such people are thoughtful and methodical. Everything is planned and done at the right time daily, day in and day out. They believe in Seeing is believing and see life from practical viewpoint.
The conic tip person is artistic, impulsive, quick, intuitive person, to whom beauty and harmony appeals most. They do not care for system, punctuality as this is burdensome. They love nature, music, whatever appeals to their eyes or pleases the ear and life is more of an enjoyment for them. It is said that square fingered male should have conic fingered female to bring that joy in life as conic fingered females are idealistic and pleasing company. Their home will be beautiful and artistically decorated, but not systematic. They are romantic by nature and often easily led and hence not constant in romance.
Pointed tips are exaggerated form of the conic and such people are highly idealistic. They live in mental world totally. They are not fit for materialistic world. They vsionary dreamer, impractical, but poetical and beautiful. They are fanaticals as they can be led astray easily.
