Dear Friend...
Starting in very early 1990s this has been a quest for some of us. I have been an observer for the most part though such is the paucity of participants that I have consistently been confused as one and dragged and pulled and challenged into becoming one <GOD FORBID a teacher and mentor at times!!>. And all I have EVER been on this silicon reality has been to be the fly on the wall! Yes, at times I have buzzed, but then back to wall it has been for me!
You see -- for me, this entire universe of divination is an ocean and never a FISH MARKET!
The ocean beckons all those who love to explore and learn a few things along the way like how to veer a boat or how to read a chart or a palm -- as opposed to one who would rather not do any of those and expect the vendors to bring fish to his or her table.
Do a google search on NEWFOUNDLAND and see what is happening to the professional fishermen there> Or Bangladesh perhaps?
I know much of what I write, post and have for now more than a decade is all just ocean passing through your fingers -- but is it the ocean's fault or just that your fingers were not sincere and closed tightly enough?
It seems like hundred years ago -- the family I was adopted into, I was barely a teenager or not even that -- went to visit Gujrat! It was the first time I experienced a perfectly flat, modern, cemented road in my short life! I have lived in the glorious WEST since then but nowhere have I experienced that smooth highway as that summer!
That JOURNEY had many an interesting experiences that I may or may NOT share publicly but I just wish upon each nubile teenager that they BE as blessed as me, in their natural or adopted families to experience it all at the right moment ...
We arrived at Dwarka and the dak bunglaa had a beach just behind it. It was not a beach like most of us would connect to. It was a rocky beach and there was some sand, some major waves, and a lighthouse too. Most importantly, there were two individuals with me. Ganpat Rao, our trusted driver and despite his weaknesses -- one who for me represented the bastion of responsibility towards others! He was the driver ultimo in that reality of mine -- the sarathi!
And there was my brother too!
You know, I keep boring you all here and everywhere with these tiny sharings of my insignificant life, time and again and if you are not, I am getting tired of it!
Before I clam up and stop sharing publicly -- please just let me say ONE MORE TIME: Beauty is in the eye of the beholder!
It is painful to watch that able-bodied children cry all over the place when the first aid kit was right next to them and many of them even grew up in families that paid attention to healthcare!
Jyotish has always sounded to me like FIRST-AID, but even there there is a lot to learn before you start beginning to place the band-aid!
Eventually, we all have the potential to become doctors, but let us begin with first-aid! Also known as JYOTISH!
Wow, bssrinivasan, you are really stressing the importance in understanding that future cannot be accurately predicted, and you are right.
I think that divination sciences should be used to show us our best path in life, which road we should take, to point out our strengths and weaknesses, not to give us some fatalistic prediction.
In one way our character is our destiny, if we can change our character we can change our destiny, but its not an easy task.
