Is it generally a bad sign when the health line touches with the end of the life line? And what about if the life line is forked at the end and the mercury line only touches one of the forked lines meeting near the luna mount?

When the health line touches the end of Life Line it is not a very bad sign.
          A health line touching the life line shows a health problem seriously striking the person at the age indcated in the life line, that is at a premature age. But in this case mentioned by you, the health line strikes, that is, at the end of line = generally shows good health til death. Could show a lot of tension in life though.
          If the health line is straight and not light or broken, it can show good business.
          Which fork does the mercury line touch?

It touches the left fork. the left fork and the mercury line noticeably curve out together onto the luna mount. It is difficult to see the curve of the mercury line in the scans below.

by the way, it is the lines on my own hand i am asking about and i am right handed.
