mainly look for lines(with a magnifying glass) rising from ur marriage line to the base of little finger....
If you are married and expecting children then there should be these type of lines,other ways of calculating no of children are from vertical lines in phalanges of mercury finger etc etc

On which phalange of Mercury Finger do you see the number of children and do you have confirmation of the same or have you have just read it somewhere. I shall be eagerly awaiting your reply with interest.

Dear Pravin,the phalanges of mercury are studied for no of children only When the children lines are absent on the Marriage/love/affection line(the rising ones are children lines on marriage line),now in many cases these rising lines are absent( usually they start building after marriage,or sometimes before marriage in few cases).

The 3rd phalange( from top,1st 2nd,3rd) of mercury/little finger should be examined with a magnifying glass,and then judging the color of palm,we have to see which straight lines are deeper,the deeper one denotes male child,the weaker one female.
Now if only one single straight line is present,and seems to be deep enough,then it can be predicted one male child,if light...then one female child.If one deep and one light straight lines,then one male and one female child.
Now points to remember->
should be STRAIGHT lines,no where cut or branched.

i hope u understood this.

And regarding the confirmation of this way of prediction,i would say i have been reading palm for many years,this way i have predicted in many cases successfully.Well for further studies,u can go through the book -> Encyclopedia of Palmistry by the renowned palmist M.Katakkar,you can go through books on Samudrik sastra by calcutta astrological research.

Thanks for your reply. I have the book of M. Katakkar with me and I do not remember having read about the children lines to be found on the third phalange of the mercury finger. In any case I shall recheck it.

I tried the method of Noel Jacquin where he clearly states that straight lines denote males and curved lines denote females but even with this I get only 75% correct answer. I have seen females born when males were denoted but observed that such females turned out to be bold like male child and vice versa.

Could you give me the name of the author of the Calcutta Astrological research centre of Samudrik Sastra so that I can read it.

Again indications for when will the child be born and when a person will get marrired or fall in love , how do you read them. I do get good predictions for marriage but they are not satisfying as more than 50% of the time it is difficult to predict.

What will you say when there are a number of vertical lines on the marriage line.
