Martinism/Martinist

Martinism is the mystical tradition or custom started in 18th century France by Louis-Claude de Saint-Martin. After the passing away of his mentor Martines de Pasqually, he discovered the writings of Jacob Boehme, whom he called his 'second master'.

The symbol of the Martinist Order, is most commonly known as the "martinist Pentacle." The components are a Seal of Solomon, representing the Old Testament, a cross, representing the New Testament, and a circle, which represents the gnostic Ouroboros.
