Esbat came into popular usage recently, in the twentieth century. Esbat is not a celebration during a major festival as the sabbats are. A coven will agree to meet on each full moon, new moon, or weekly. This informal meeting usually occurs at the home of one of the members of the coven. They may conduct business, perform magick and healing work, and worship the Godess, depending on the desires of the coven. Esbat traditionally concludes with the sharing of food and drink.
