Just what I needed! Was just drinking a cup of tea and suddenly thought of tea leaf reading... didn't quite know how to do it, but drank almost all of it and looked into my cup, swishing it around, then seeing symbols, then repeating it. I ended up seeing a bird, an elephant, a star, a boat and the number 27... would a number possibly indicate a date? So like I might get good news on the 27th... ? I'd love to learn more... are there any good resources anyone can suggest?

Build a good symbolism understanding. What do the symbols you got mean to you?  Numerology can give some explanation of the number - but a date also makes sense if that is what you felt. 

There are people who do the readings and have rituals about turning the cup 3 times and putting it top down in a saucer.  Others are not so ritualistic.  

When leaves fall along the sides of the cup it can be a timing indication - closer to the top is soonest.

OK, sounds like what I read on this one Tea USA site, thank you! And yes it felt a lot like a date, no explanation... but you might meanwhile know that I can trust my gut for the most part. I like it =)
