Hi, I am a timber salvager in Australia and while we were cutting this ancient old tree, came across this interesting bark inclusion which I automatically thought to be a representation of a person sitting in full lotus position meditating. The auric layers and rays are many.
The slab is 1.5m wide and 1.5m long in the rare Queensland maple.
Do you think it looks like some one meditating? Unfortunately the photos do not show the individual toes and the rich colours as they were taken at night in a bad light. Does anybody know about tree spirits and do the spirits stay with the timber or do they dissapate when the tree dies?
