So I have been told that the closer two numbers are together, the more compatible they are, and that it's best if numbers between people (i.e., their Life Path, Expression, Personality and Heart's Desire- or the Big 4) are not off by more than two. But I have not heard the basis for this. Anyone know anything about it? I would like a site that tells about this, or a book. Just some source that clarifies the why for the need for the numbers to be close together.

To answer your question.

It's best if you have two spaces apart when comparing Core Aspects such as the Life Path and say Expression ( name number ) as ODD numbers are compatible with other ODD numbers and likewise EVEN with EVEN's. One space apart would be ODD/EVEN and vice versa.

This is due to each group being linked with certain characteristics which whilst slightly different from each other, enhance the same concept and ideals = if not actually strengthen them..

For example all of the ODD numbers (1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11) are individualists, free-spirited, broad-minded, creative and in the world but not quite in it - in a manner of speaking...they are therefore, the thinkers and planners of society whose inspirational ideas form the basis that can change the world and indeed even stop it from becoming stagnant. Whilst the EVEN numbers (2, 4, 6, 8, 22) are down-to-earth busy bodies who only deal with reality from an accepted point of view. Loyal. cautious, stubborn and always on-the-go they love the noise and confusion of life, hate silence and really have trouble understanding the wishy washy ways of the ODD numbers. They are the doers of society and tell it as it is. EVEN's however, take the theories of the ODD numbers, test them for worth then manufacture them into a tangible end product.

This means that although both groups conflict with each other through a lack of understanding, they also desperately need each other at the end of the day in order to survive!

The next answer to your question is why just Two Spaces?

Ideally this is to do with the type of energy flow between Core Aspects and their workability between each other. If you imagine a cup and some liquid and view the cup as your Life Path and the liquid as your Expression (name number) then I can explain the effectiveness to you visually.

So, say you have a Life Path Number 9 (the cup) and an Expression Number 1 (the liquid) whilst still compatible, there is 8 spaces between the numbers, so the liquid being so much smaller than the cup would only respectively fill a thimble full therefore, the cup is more-or-less empty. This means in Numerology terms that your Life Path (which is where you find your opportunities in life) over powers your Expression (your potential to develop the type of skills and abilities). So you would find that you have plenty of people throwing opportunities at you, only to find the expectations of you extremely hard to live up to, due to a lack of understanding of the job required. This means to fulfil your demands with any credible amount of success and satisfaction, once your foot is in the door, you would literally have to put your nose to the grind and work/study like crazy to develop the skills required of you. It would be like choosing to become a nurse and everybody handing to you on a plate the chance to become a doctor! The other way round with a Life Path 1 and an Expression 9 - your abilities would be far greater than the world gives you credit for. The liquid is being poured into the cup from say a 1 litre tub so most of your skills would be unused as the liquid spills over the edges of the cup with nothing else to catch it. The problem here is that not only do people not see your potential for great things but that your frustration pushes you towards finding your own opportunities, which is always a difficult thing to do.

So, you see if the numbers are two or even four spaces apart the cup holds the liquid really well and you find that your life offers you the type of things which will not only develop your potential capabilities but hand you the opportunities to use them effectively!

This is just one example of how fascinating the Numbers can be when combined within a person and then how compatible they are to another, whether it is with a work colleague, boss, lover or family member.
