For the most part you would add down and get one.
However there are exceptions to this. For example if you are attempting to figure out a relationship aspect you could leave it at 10 and read about the basic stories in Tarot cards ( in this case the card would be the Wheel of Fortune).
What was the whole date to begin with and what is the date signifying? That makes a difference.
