aura blasts are possible, but it takes a lot of time, patience, concentration and mastery to even produce a single blast. it'll takes years before you get to the level where you can use it in real-time combat. by the time you get there, you'll be wise enough not to get involved in anything that'll force you to use it.

no spells, though.

Spells

Spells are energy based weapons. Energy is smaller than matter. The spells you are referring to, are spells of manifestation. Different energies can be placed into different classifications, like fire or water. Spells are the focusing, summoning and banishing of these energies.

The difference between the above and the actual physical event of fire and lightning, is that lightning is a result of reactions between atoms and other matter.

Energy is the real magic, and being able to understand it, and its use is the true magic.
