Can the shark be a spirit guide or protector? I had the experience of walking on the beach and having a fossil shark tooth tossed at my feet, an exceedingly rare find, at a very traumatic period in my life and have been wondering about this for three years since.

Many people believe in spirit guides in the animal kingdom. The natives believed that animals were totems - holding special meaning in our lives through their power. Ted Andrews wrote on Animal power.

I tend to see animals more as a totem or inspiration through their power. Spirit guides tend to come with species, it makes communication a little easier, when it is such a challenge anyway.
