Sometimes it gets overwhelming - these techniques I have seen can get pretty in depth...The best advice I was ever given in this area is not to do something because its "status quo". Do what feels right. Heavens to betsy! I can remember thinking I had to do this long in depth meditation that lasted for an hour - and I couldnt stay awake during it! I got so frustrated I stopped meditating, stopped shielding, stopped grounding. And became very very overwhelmed, pained, sick etc. a friend who taught alot of those methods picked up right away that I had stopped all of it and asked why. So I told her - I dont do it the way Im supposed to - so she asked what worked for me and I told her - and she said there is nothing wrong with whatever feels right to you.

For someone who feels mirrors are bad - well then its not a very good protection is it? If something gives you a bad feeling you wont put much faith into it. Same goes for colors - if you dont like the color pink then it wont be a good color to use during meditation or shielding.

If the light one doesnt work for you, try playing with it! Try it from the feet up to your head...or from the sides in...or try a whole new method!"

Many techniques and exercises can be posted on the subject of Grounding, Shielding, Protection.  All of them are valid for anyone who uses them to effective service.  If they don't work for someone, find another technique that does work.

I am very glad that you put this out there... I am a do what feels right for you kinda person too.... I often tell people how I do things to give them an Idea of where to start... but I by no means want them to do something that feels wrong... We are all so different... we even feel and express our abilities in different ways... so why would one set something work for everyone? It seems a little silly if you think about it.... We aren't all the same so why would something that is work for everyone?

Thank you Again Spirit for posting this... I know that when you are new to some things, that you often feel like someone would know more about it than you would... but this is one of those things where you know what is best... and asking for help is good in being able to find what works for you or at least a starting place to be able to find what is best....
