Any method of meditation is calming the physical body and opening the mind to take you into the spirit/soul connection. I like to use a scene I have created and continue to create from nature. I go to my personal garden where I walk around and design and make more beautiful each time I visit. The colors, the scent, the warmth are all there to soothe my soul and make me at peace with everyone and everything. It is a wonderful journey in meditation.

Begin with as little as 5 minutes of actual meditation. Sometimes it takes longer to breathe yourself calm before actually remaining in the peace core. I don't think that any more than 20 minutes is very effective. I do know of some people who sit in meditation for hours on end - but then the mind is bound to wander - what are they actually doing?
