Swethaji,
When a person is in difficulty it is natural to remember God but a truly spiritual person with a purer Soul will always remember HIM. When you are hurt physically or emotionally your thoughts go to where you can get relief and we believe by remembering God we might get relief.

i would rather prefer to mend my mood and then concentrate on god or spirituality. going to temples and attending prayers when i am feeling bad is something like begging to god and annoying him with demands or requests. thinking of god in a good mood is rather preferable. you do not bore Him with your sad stories. and, you do not have much to ask for when you are in a good mood. You are happy, God is happy. isn't that what is expected when two meet?

Perhaps it is important to remember God in all things. How often do say Thank you to the universe when things are going well in our lives? But when the struggles come, we call upon God to 'fix' our troubles and pain.
God is more like a partner in this life. God knows, of course, without our telling about the struggles. God also designed life as lessons to be learned and used.
