The way you say it makes it sound like you can just release a pressure valve and be done with it.
I think subconscious emotions are rarely ever "trapped" exactly. Pay attention to your daily life I am sure they will be out of there traps. For example maybe you get angry or afraid in certain situations, but you do not understand why. This would be a good place for you to start I think. Your subconscious emotions will certainly affect you in some way. You should try to recognize them when they do. Gadgets are fancy, but I think we are born with everything we need for our own wellbeing.

Also I agree with what fisk_82 suggested. I am not sure what you mean by "release" though. I don't think dreams will free you from most emotional burdens, but at least you can see what shows up in your dreams and then deal with it from there.
