Namaskar

I hope you are good in health

Please, excuse me when I commit some mistake writing you.

I wrote guru due to me understanding about respect to elderly people, or someone who has knowledge, or who is a teacher or parents.
But please excuse me if I m not write well. It was not to praise but to respect.
I think if I respect properly I will get that you teach me, and also probably I will be a good student.

Could you tell me how I may address to you please.

I m treating to translit the sanskrit mantra (a piece):

Chaakshushmatii vidyaa

suuryaakshitejase namah khecharaaya namah | asato
maa sagghamaya | tamaso maa jyotirgamaya | mrtyormaa 'mrtam
gamaya | ushno bhagavaan shuchirupah | hamso bhagavaan
shuchirapratirupah ||

Could you please give me the translation to english.

Thanks a lot

HAve a nice day

Radha Kripa das

Namaskaar Radha Kripa das ji,
Adress us with our name and it woyuld be fine. We usually suffix 'ji' to show mutual respect. Calling us as Gurus will creat some distance between all of us. This we dont want, as a Guru has to be made one by his/her own Guru and someone cannot become one by proclaiming it himself or even by others.
Secondly we are all learners here and we are only sharing our knowledge.

Dont worry about the mistake part. we all do it and learn from them. This is what the upachaya sthaanas are all about.

We cannot translate the stotra but we will give word by word meaning.

Surya = Sun
AKsha = eye
Tejas = light or shining.
namah = bow

Khecharaay = Traveller of the sky

Asato ma sadgamaya = lead me from untruth to Truth
Tamaso ma jyotirgamaya = lead me from drakness to light
mrtyorma amrutam gamaya = lead me from death to immortality.
Ushno = Hot
Bhagwaan = creator
Suchi = purity
Rupaha = form

hamso = Swan, the inbreath and the out breath, the ajapa gaayatri, When reversed it becomes soham - meaning that I am, Soham is also one of the name of Surya.

Pratrupa = Reflection or duplication.

The meanings are as per our present level of understanding. We are always open to correction and more profound meaning.

Keep participating and asking questions when they rise, maybe we both can help you to clear your doubts.

RishiRahul and vivek
I have many questions but...
