Hi when i do a reading I always use the numbers of the cards 1 to 78 like 10 wheel etc but some do it by say the numbers where 7 18 30 deal 7 then ? HERE is the question do they re shuffle and count 18 or do the go from 7 and lay 18th? not sure if am making myself clear hope I am.....how would you do a reading if some one gave you numbers.?

I do not understand your question Marie.. I dont lay the cards down by numbers... but, then again, I really do not know what you mean..
care to clarify?

Oh, Marie, I understand how poor Cedars is so puzzled    I myself cannot make head or tails of your request, but I will give it a try and you tell us if we are way off the track or not:

Either you are asking the querent to give you a number and then you shuffle and pick up the card in that position -and so on for as many cards as you want the spread to have- or search for the card that has that number on it -how do you position the deck from 1 to 78?...

...Or you are using certain spreads that require you to count and pick the cards in a certain order.

In any case, I am afraid I have never used any of those methods. If the querent is present, he/she shuffles, cuts and either of us draw any cards we like. If I am alone, I open the deck face down in the shape of a fan and let my left hand do the picking in a random way.

Has this been any help? Or are you just as puzzled as we were?

I think what you are saying is whether people count to 7 and then continue counting to 18 or they shuffle the cards every time in between and count 18 anew. I've also never heard of this method and so much restrictions may make the reading too methodical. You are sweating the small stuff. Sometimes cards fall out of your hand as you deal and they are the right ones to talk about. These things can go very quickly and if you are busy counting you may miss the moment and the right card.
