Ancient astrologers such as Varahamihira have set some standards for astrologer wannabes like us.

STABILITY
PROFESSIONALISM
SENSITIVITY (better depicted by the french term: SENSIBILITÉ! More so when it is tried on in its english homonym, viz. Sensibility)

And Scholarship of course which is a preparatory requisite but sadly remains an exclusive goal in modern minds. Motherhood is way more than the ability to conceive, if someone needs an analogy!

STABILITY deals with consistency not only from the technical angle but also pertaining to the 'technician'. And maturity of course that is part of the growth and comes from experience, hopefully through living and not fighting what is our lifeplan, aka "human experience".

PROFESSIONALISM deals with the ability to absorb a lot of what nativities share with you in confidence and treating it with care and respect. The relationship between an astrologer and nativity is of the same mien as that between a parent and child, at least as far as the reading is concerned. TRUST plays a big role.

SENSITIVITY/SENSIBILITY: I would be wasting bandwidth trying to describe this to this august gathering of stable and professional people, so I shall hold my tongue (or keyboard in this case!)
