Welcome to the Group. With members in so many different time zones, it's a great place to browse and catch up on members' comments to see what goes in other parts of the globe. In the "land down under" my time is currently 11.25am EST Tuesday and when I log on, there's hardly anyone else on the Board.
Did you know that Discussion Forums and Groups are subject matter for some IT students - I once made contact with a poster on my older daughter's site which she created as a forum for people in the "party plan" distribution business as a forum for members to enable networking, promotions, distribution/planning advice etc. in their particular areas, however she subsequently sold the site to a more active administrator.
The young gentleman told me that many IT students study the variety of Discussion Forums that exist, the subject matters etc and the interests of members and the variety of their postings, where their interests lie etc...somebody might be doing their Doctorate on this type of activity.
My daughter's site became very popular but as you will appreciate, members were licenced distributors and when their business activities declined and their licences weren't renewed, their involvement in her web site ceased also.
My younger daughter developed a web site for artists, performers, artisans, writers, poets etc, people who are involved in the ARTS (a broad description of numerous cultural pursuits) which allows a mini-publication of their talents, links to their own web sites, contacts etc. - the web site links to her/her partner's home-based art gallery and they conduct exhibitions on a 3-4weekly basis for art groups or solo exhibitions. Great stuff.
