Thanks.  It comes from spending too much time in the music industry.  
I always thought it conjured up the most interesting image, even though it really is just a kind of boring technical term in recording...

Yeah, it has something to do how microphones draw their power.  I'm not tech enough to completely understand it, more of a biz guy.

I named my promotions company that way for three reasons; I like the sound of it, I knew recording geeks would notice it and I had this idea that we would be the invisible power behind artists to help them accomplish their goals.

Anyway, that's the whole story I guess
