though this thread has the title 'Work', I feel tremendously tempted to refer to this story about Bernard Shaw, which has got nothing to do with work.

Shaw was witty, but not goodlooking. He met a woman (many say, they were friends) at a party, and this woman eventually proposed him saying, - why don't you marry me? Think what our children would be like - my beauty and your intellect (this lady was a model/an actress, famous for her beauty).

"What if the opposite happens?" - the reply from Shaw
