You are doing it - Big Hug and Big Pat on the Back!!!  I remember my first steps into the journey of staying straight and sober.  I would look at the "elder" members and be awe-struck that they had stayed on the 12 step path for years--I only had a few weeks and wondered if I would ever make it.   I am here to tell you ,Avaiyak that you CAN do this - just deal with today - not yesterday- not tomorrow, but only the now.  The 4th step is almost as hard as the 1st step - taking a moral inventory of yourself is very hard - it is a sharp reality kick in the butt, but don't beat your self up too hard.  Facing our short-comings, wrongs we have done, things we are ashamed of is NEVER easy, but damn well worth it to keep your sanity & soberity.  Not to sound boastful (but a bit proud & humbled) I have been blessed with 21 years of soberity.  It can be done!!!!  I can't imagine trying to keep up with my job, my husband & grandson, take care of my household & gardens and drink the 12 pack of beer and a pint of whiskey on a DAILY basis as I did before . Be proud of your accomplishment - I am for you!  Everyday is an amazing feat to keep it together and walk the path you are on, but you have chosen a very wise path.  You will be amazed of how your body, mind, soul and attitude will heal and you will  hunger to learn new things, enjoy simple wonders of life and feel good inside and out.  Keep a moto " Today's the day" (I will stay sober, love life, etc......). Just make sure you have a good counselor or support network - and utilize that network A LOT.     Love yourself and Love Life - it is wonderful staying sober.
