No loved pet is just a pet.
I wept for several days and was very sad for a long time after when my dog died.
Our wee cat friend recently died.  I'm still sad, but happy for her that she is no longer in pain. She has already checked in and is doing fine on the other side and happy she can visit us.

Lots of hugs, take good care.

Agreed. Compassionate people can form extremely close bonds with animals and this makes them an important part of your life. It is only natural to go through a greiving process when a loss of any type is experienced. Reinforce in your mind the fact that the decision you made was best for the animal's well being . IMO It is better for any soul to be released from its' physical vessel and at peace than to be trapped in a body that causes only pain and aggrivation.

Hi glenellen,

I'm right where you are. I have needed to put my dog out of her misery for months. I don't have the money to do it. She is a shepard and has hip displacia. My shepard when I was a teen needed it, we didn't do it in time, he suffered a heart attck.
I swore I would never do this again, and now I am.
Know you did the right thing, and Molly is waiting for you happily, and I believe she will be there when you need her. Actually she is there now, just let her in.

Lots of HUGE HHHUUUGGGSS, positive energy, andLOVE to you.

Karlene
