you have a right to seek what you need and its clearly not the people around you.  There are a number of pagans who come here to mystic board so you may want to have a chat with them about paganism etc.

In the meanwhile at the risk of sounding old and fuddy duddy don't let your studies slide, once they do its hard to catch up.  Being a student is supposed to be one of the most liberating experiences and fun too.  

Hopefully you have alot of friends around you who can support you through the transition periods that are coming up for you.

Personally speaking I would advise you to keep plugging away at your studies and life in general, it will all make sense to you in times to come.

I know studying is what I need to do

I like and agree with Suzi.  our journeys can be winding, and the paths difficult.  Concentrating on your studies right now will help clear the thoughts of the negativity you encountered. Sometimes the other needs will be fulfilled when we are able to concentrate on something positive (i.e. studies) bringing yet more positive energy to you.

I think you have done the right thing,being around negative people who are getting to you and your life so to speak arent what you should be around....Focusing on your studies because thats very important, is a great thing,i let mine slide when i went to school and it was a huge mistake for me,i really regret it.
